We continue to stand rooted in our commitment to deeply affordable housing, honoring families and elders, uplifting cultural arts and celebrations, and community care.<\/div>\n

We saw this like never before as we moved to respond to the devastating disaster when Hurricane Helene ripped through Western North Carolina on September 27th, 2024.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Las tormentas rugieron y las aguas crecieron, y nuestra Appalachia cambi\u00f3 para siempre. BeLoved ha estado presente durante muchos a\u00f1os antes de que Helene transformara dr\u00e1sticamente la vida de la gente de estas monta\u00f1as. BeLoved estuvo presente en medio de la tormenta y en sus secuelas inmediatas, y estaremos aqu\u00ed a largo plazo.<\/p>

La devastaci\u00f3n que vimos a nuestro alrededor era inconcebible. Y el dolor palpable: familias perdieron a sus seres queridos, familias quedaron sin hogar en un solo d\u00eda que lo cambi\u00f3 todo. Toda la regi\u00f3n qued\u00f3 sin alimentos, agua, electricidad, comunicaciones ni carreteras transitables. Aislada del mundo.
BeLoved is a collective of people who care. We rushed into the storm and its horrific aftermath to put love into action. We became a major distribution hub sharing life-saving supplies with 15,000 people a day in impacted zones from Marshall to Chimney Rock, Barnardsville, Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Pensacola, Waynesville, Marion, Old Fort, Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Asheville, and Fairview\u2013towns big and small and mountain hollers. We shared millions of pounds of food, millions of gallons of water, and millions of necessities from hygiene, first aid, and tools for clean up and repairs.
We saw the pain on the ground and we acted to create powerful solutions to lift up our impacted neighbors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
